  6. I have regifted. I received this beautiful hosting set that does not fit my decor at all and I regifted it. Why let something so nice (and it was expensive) go to waste or sit in a box if I can't use it.

  7. I have definitely regifted...but only nice stuff. If the gift isn't something I need or want, why not bless someone else?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Just put back two gifts that I *plan* on re-gifting - actually swapping what one friend gave me for that of the other!

    ReplyDelete
  9. yep, I am definitely guilty of that! :) I would keep these though!

  10. My mother re-gifts all the time. Once she gave a gift to a friend and it was only when the woman opened it my mother remembered that the gift had been from her in the first place. Now, either the woman didn't remember buying it for my mother or she had good manners enough not to mention it, lol

  11. I hate to admit it but I have regifted before. When we got married we got four really nice sets of knifes and cutting blocks and boards. And it was a very busy weekend. We had 3 friends get married the same weekend as us. So we did keep a couple sets of knifes for us and gave away a couple. Horrible, I know but they were really nice presents!

  12. I re-gift all the time, but only the nice stuff. I only do it because I know someone else needs it or because I do not get a gift reciept and I wouldn't use it. One good example is summer clothes for my newborn who is due in the Fall. I just hang on to the gifts until someone does have a summer baby and then re-gift.
BTW I loooooove Pampered Chef :)

  19. I can not think of an example right now but I have re-gifted a few times. I try to keep it separated by my side and my husbands sides of the family. So if someone in my family gives us something we do not need, I would only re-gift it to someone is hubbys family.

I will also take things from different homemade cards I've received and use it to make something new. Some people would call me cheap, I like to think of it as thrifty and creative. :)

I had bought a TON in a garage sale and knew I would never need them before she grew out of them...so I gave them to another friend who was having a girl. She didn't know the difference and was thrilled to have a huge lot of new clothes! :)

  68. For my mother-in-law's birthday, part of her gift was an awesome great-smelling candle that I got as a gift for being in my cousin's wedding party. I loved it so much, I gave it to her!

I feel like re-gifting is actually a compliment. I like the gift so much that I would actually give it to someone else. I'm pretty picky about the things I give as gifts :-).

    PS Love your blog!

    ReplyDelete
  69. I typically do not regift - I guess I feel fortunate enough that someone spent their money/time/thoughts on me that I usually take the gift & put it to use for myself! :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. Absolutely, I have re-gifted. If you get something you know you won't use it's a great way to "recycle".

    ReplyDelete
  87. I have regifted things once or twice. I'm always very careful and thoughtful about how I do it, though--if I can't think of anyone who would genuinely enjoy a gift I don't want, I either sell it or give it to charity. I've gotten too many hideous gifts from DH's family (I can say that here!) to ever inflict that on someone else. I mean, a tabletop mini golf set? Complete with miniature green and flag, etc.? I don't even play golf! I'm a stay at home wife! What possessed them? ...Okay, I feel better now. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  88. I re-gift ALL the time! We have 5 boys, and when we have Christmas or birthdays, they always get SO much stuff. So we go through and they pick out things they are not so interested in or already have, and they go into the "present container" which we use through out the year for birthdays and other events!
