New giveaway! 5 Year Membership to ZooBuh!

This is a very close to my heart giveaway because it involves my children. If you have little kids and are thinking of skipping this giveaway... read on.

We are very protective of our kids. Period. It took almost a year of drama for us to allow them to have an email address. I monitor them, I have parent controls on my computer, I read all their email in and out, etc. In August, one of our kids opened her email to find a message form someone she didn't know, so she did what we had asked her to do and grabbed me. I waved her on and was a little perturbed to be bothered but went over and checked it out. I was shocked to see in her regular inbox a seriously pornographic email message, complete with pictures and all the, well, everything. I can't tell you how glad I am that she did not open it and see that. I thought I was doing everything that I was supposed to. Upon further investigation we found that her email address had been swiped by this place from a kids game site they introduced to them at school.

ZooBuh! is a safe email place for your children. If you think your kids aren't going to have an email address, think again. My 7th grader has to have one for school.

ZooBuh is easy to set up, it offers more and better controls than AOL or Microsoft do, and it requires no extra software.

ZooBuh gives you total control over your children's email universe. By default they can receive mail only from users in the approved-contact list and can send mail only to those same approved users-but you can change either setting as you see fit.

You can have copies of incoming or outgoing messages sent to your email address, remove images or links from your child's received mail, and block some or all attachments. ZooBuh also has a bad-words filter, with a box for adding your own unwanted words.

ZooBuh has very generously offered to giveaway to one reader a

5 YEAR FAMILY ACCOUNT!

They have also extended to us a special "coupon" price only good through October 31st. Normal price for a year is $29.95. For MyLitter readers it is only $12 if you order thorough the cool little button they made me. I love computer people!

Also, for the first time there are 5 ways to win.

First entry: Leave a Comment, How old were you when you got your first email account?? (I was 24 but never used it until I was 26)

Second entry: Click on the Zoobuh promo link to visit site, click on my litter’s promo sunflower on homepage and sign the guest book or optional signup with promo discount. *signup not required for entry.

Third entry: Fan us on Zoobuh! Facebook page.

Target Markdowns!

Be on the lookout for clearance items at Target!! I went last night (would have taken pictures but my camera is finally dead) and found a ton of great deals. These are some of the clearance deals we found!

Fruit By the Foot $1.68, used $.40 coupons
Reynolds Wrap, 100% recycled $1.48 used coupons
2 Pack count FiberOne Bars $.67 cents used $.40 cent coupon, made it $.27 cents a box.
Crystal Light travel packs, $.68 used $2/2 coupon!
Mayo for $2.54 used a $.60 cents coupon.

Lots of deals to be found! This is a comment from a reader...

HI Tiffany,
I've been checking your blog since I read about it in (was it Women's Day? I can't remember) and I live in Katy; I've commented a few times.

Just thought I'd let you know of a mark-down I found at Target yesterday. I was armed with my $3/Glade Fragrance Collection IPs and they had marked down almost ALL of the Glade candles. I was torn between the 3-wick candles (normally $9) marked down to $4.29 or the 2oz candles marked down to $2.49 (so I'd get overage). I opted for the larger ones to use as gifts for the kid's teachers - for $1.50, who can argue? I noticed they had different labels than they currently have, so perhaps that's why.

Anyway, thought I'd let you know as I know you frequent Target and if you have any of those big value coupons left, you might get lucky and find some mark downs. Good luck!

Thank you for the comment!

Give a day, get a day FREE at Disney!

HERE’S A NICE LITTLE TRADE-OFF that benefits multiple folks! Disney kicked off a new promotion, Give a Day, Get a Disney Day Free to encourage Americans to volunteer in 2010. The idea is simple: if you give your time and volunteer for one day, you’ll get a voucher for a free day at Disneyworld or Disneyland in 2010. One million folks can take advantage of this deal! There are a few details to consider:

  • You’ll need to search online for a volunteer opportunity and sign up to participate. The catch is that you can’t start looking for those opportunities until January 1, 2010.
  • Once they verify your service, you’ll receive the voucher for free admission.
  • The program ends on December 15, 2010, or once all of the tickets are distributed, whichever comes first.
  • There’s a limit of one ticket per person, regardless of the number of hours donated. But the program is open to anyone age six or older, so if you get the family involved, you can get most of them in for free.
  • If you’re buying a multi-day pass or an annual pass, you have options: Instead of the voucher, you can get a free FASTPASS for you and five others or a collectible ear hat figurine with trading pins. Or you can donate your voucher to a non-profit organization designated by Disney.

Think you’ll forget to register? Click here to receive an e-mail update reminder from Disney.

Thanks Vicki!

Catalina didn't print? This is what you do.

What to do when your Catalina does not print...

There is nothing more frustrating than doing a deal and your Catalina does not print. When this happens you have a few things that you can do.

When a Catalina does not print, ask the cashier... or head over to Customer Service. Get a Manager if you need to. Don't be shy about it... Catalina's can be really high value after all!
~ I always double check with an add if possible that I was supposed to get one.

If they don't know or are less than helpful make a choice to either return the order completely (get your coupons back) or you can contact Catalina directly.

Catalina can be reached at 888-826-8766 and press 3. (Write this number in your phone book, trust me you'll need it one day.)

They can look up the transaction by receipt and clubcard number.

I have found the folks at Catalina to be really helpful, last time I had a problem the store was offline and they mailed me my Catalinas.
Thank you Louise for the Catalina info!

~ What is a Catalina?
Catalina Category Marketing (CCM) rewards purchases of promoted products with “catalinas”, also known as “check-out coupons”. These offer incentives good on your next shopping trip to that retailer. There is usually a 4-week window on any given program/incentive promotion.

~ Are catalinas manufacturer's coupons or store coupons?
Generally, they are manufacturer's coupons, although occasionally one will state that it is a Store Coupon. The manufacturer's coupon catalinas are not able to be combined with other manufacturer's coupons.

In other words, if you have a catalina for $1.00/2 product X and also an insert coupon for $1.00/2, you would need to purchase 4 of the product in order to use both coupons.
