Reader Spotlight!: Ginger at HEB, she only spent $38!

Today's readers amazing deal is Ginger B. and her trip to HEB!

Ginger says:

I had 3 of the $5 Kraft coupons and went to H-E-B today. I bought their meal deal (ends tomorrow) where you buy cheese and you get corn chips and chili for free.

I also got:

3 packs of Hammermill copy paper with $2 coupons..they ended up being $1.25 each

A different meal deal they have going on where you buy the 4 lean cuisines and get free bananas, water , spinach and candy. I used 2 coupons for the lean cuisine meals.

The last time I shopped there, 2 coupons printed out with my receipt for 2 free items! I got a 2 pack of yogurt and a bag of mashed potatoes totally free!

And then without coupons I bought milk, bread, some cinnamon chip things and some FRESH tortilla chips

My grand total for everything in the picture was $38.01!!

We are also a large family and your site has been wonderful in helping me keep costs down

Thanks again,

Ginger

Thank you so much for the reminder about the $2 coupons on the copy paper! I have to make sure I get in and use those!

Reader Spotlight: Jeff T.

I really can't help but post this deal! It is the trip that my (formerly too cool for coupons) brother- in -law Jeff (husband of Anna) did this week at Kroger, actually it was one of his many!

This is the text I got from him when he was done shopping:

"Our trip to Kroger today. Four seperate transactions so we could use the catalinas.. But our total was $148.02 before coupons and discounts. After discounts we spent $21.54 .. a savings of 86%! Oh snap!"

Reader Spotlight: Sheri!

Sheri, did a great job this week at CVS! Even, better when she ditched her "2 year old destroyer!" I have one of those!:)

"This transaction was a little under 8.00. I used 1.00 coupons on the cascade and charmin that I got in the mail. All the Sobe's were free. I made a second transaction for the second milk using my ECB's from the charmin and cascade getting it free with a buck left over."

"This transaction was .80 cents! I got the Sobe's free with the coupons and I used a .25 coupon and a 2.00 CVS coupon printed in the store for the paper towels. I also used a 4.00 off 20 coupon for signing up my email at cvs.com/email."

Awesome job, thanks so much for the email Sheri!

I looked for the pretzel M&M's and they didn't have any. Now I had all 3 kids with me and I promised them some candy for being good. So we drove to the other CVS and they had to get out a new box of the M&M's so here was my 4th transaction at the other store:

4 pretzel M&M's B1G1 .89
I used:
2 B1G1 pretzel M&M's coupons
OOP: $0!

I know you said they freak out when the total is zero but I figured if they were going to fuss about it, it was just some candy. But the cashier didn't bat an eye and my kids had their candy. Notice in the picture 2 of the bags are empty :) Their just rewards!
Sorry it's a long email, I was really excited and had to share!
Hope you're having a great day!
Julia C.

Thanks so much for the great email! I am glad you found the M&M's I am still looking for some! Way to go for shopping with the kids!

Reader Spotlight of the Week... Lori's Deal!

Lori D. did a great deal this week price matching at Walmart.

Here is what she did:
K-Mart has the Off Clip on Starter Kit on sale this week for 2 for $8.00, since I haven't tried using coupons at K-Mart much I went to Wal-Mart with the ad and had them price match...

Deal 1...
Bought 2 Starter Kits and 1 refill
$3.84 for the refill and $8.00 for both Starter kits
Used BOGO Off Clip on Starter Kit coupon
and 1 $2.00 off Starter Kit coupon from 5/12 SS (making the Starter Kits 2 for $2.00)
and 1 $1.00 off refill coupon also from 5/16 SS
Total $4.84 plus tax

Deal 2 ... I repeated deal 1

Deal 3 I bought 2 Ziplock baggies using a BOGO coupon from the 4/11 SS and another Off refill using $1.00 off from 5/16 SS
Total $6.37 plus tax

Now I can submit 3 rebates here...

So total out of pocket with tax will be about $4.00 for everything in the photo below! COOL!
Also, be sure to peek in the Off clip on Starter box for a folded up coupon, in the box is facing you it will be on the right hand side, they don't all have them but I found 4 that did and the coupon is for $1.00 off a refill and expires in June 2011! I'll bet at the end of the season I can find some on clearance and use these coupons to stock up with refills for next year!

I really need to stock up on these, like I said before we really like them. Thank you so much for sharing this great deal with us Lori and for the pictures!
