We are in the eastern Texas area and I run my air conditioning from the end of February to at least middle October. It is not unusual to have the air on for Halloween. I love my mid-west family that likes to exclaim how hot it might get that day, "we might have to turn the AC on". Yep, and I might have to sell a child to afford my bill in August, $683.00 this August for electricity. We even have a newer AC unit. We yell constantly to shut the doors, and I leave it up at about 77 degrees.
I just really am looking forward to some cooler weather. I would like to live somewhere that I can open my windows and let the fresh air in. Somewhere that my kids can play outside in the summer.

I live in Central TX and I really dislike the weather here. I'm originally from New England so that's my idea of what weather should be! I'm not saying I like long winters, but some variation from hot hotter hottest would be great. I wish I could wear sweaters more than two months of the year. Today I wanted to take my kids hiking or something but they all said "it's TOO HOT!". So yeah, I feel ya. Thanks for letting me ramble on a bit...everyone else is sick of hearing about it hahaha!

So with you! Was loving it earlier this week - even the rain. We played in it - it was so nice to be cool. This weekend just stank because we were cooped up inside, again, still... (we're in Katy).
With regards to your bill, did you lock in a rate at that itsyourchoice, (that's not it exactly, but it's that website that allows you to compare all the electricity prices). We were paying 14.4c/KW with Reliant and locked it in with Champion back at the beginning of June for 9.1c/KW! HUGE savings!!!

I saw on add for that but didn't do it. We actually switched to TXU and have seen a big difference with that. Our bill last August was around $850. Out of control!!
I will check it out! Thanks!
