Walgreens Deals week of 10-25 to 10-31

Walgreens is the source of much frustration for many people including me. You never know what to expect when checking out, the cashiers and managers are always "making up" new rules when you use coupons. Nothing is ever consistent with them, and their program is confusing to begin with. But even though I swear I will never go back in I always end up back in there trying again. I know many of you only have a Walgreens and so you have no choice but to shop there so I keep trying to do the deals there so I can post them.

My biggest complaint with them is the ability to combine coupons and get back Register Rewards. Check out the Dulcolax FREE after Register Reward advertised on page 16 of the ad in the left column. It shows how you can combine a manufacturer coupons with a Register Reward deal and still GET the Register Reward back! I would save this ad and keep it with you at all times. If you have any cashiers or manager tell you that you cannot use a manufacturer coupon on a Register Reward deal, then just show them this ad. It's proof that you can do so! Yay! Thanks for noticing this AGAIN Collin.

You have mentioned "filler items" many times. What do you mean by that?

I just started using walgreen's and have been there twice, and they have already given me grief!!! UGH!!! I do have a question though. I was buying 3 items, had 3 MQ, and was going to pay with 2RR. In order for them to not argue with me, should i have just purchased 2 add'l small items so i would technically have a Q for each item????

I am new to couponing and I can't seem to take on Walgreens on right now; I have a bunch near my house but the register rewards just seem like too big a hassle for me. I have done Rite Aid's single check rebates and though the walgreens deals look enticing it's probably more than I can handle right now to take on another store to get good deals!

Dear Tiffany,

I hate, Hate, HATE Walgreens. It's like playing "Calvin Ball" every week.

Funny thing is that I actually bought Dulcolax today. Two bottles at Costco for under six bucks.

I'm okay with that.

Sincerely,

No longer anal retentive.

So far, my Walgreens' cashiers have been very pleasant and patient. I have only been actively using coupons there for a couple of months though. However, Target is another story! I made a special trip there tonight in order to use the chex mix and other coupons that expired on the 24th. The cash register beeped and the cashier said that all of the coupons were expired. Am I an airhead, because I don't understand this?

Tracy - I have no idea why they wouldn't take your coupons! Sounds like this would have been the time to ask for a manager and ask them to go find a calendar?? Very strange...

Beth - Filler are just that, items that you just trow in, usually very low in price. Like at CVS when i want to use a $5/25 and my total is $24.75, I start looking around for fillers so I can get to $25.
At Walgreens I use fillers so that I can use all the coupons that I want to use. I have to have 1 item per coupon I am scanning and per register reward I am using. I know this is confusing so I think I will do a post on it tomorrow or later today.
