Pioneer Woman book signing + Giveaway!

Yesterday was one of the best day's I have had in along time!
Good friends and lots of fun... all day!
On a side note... I have to thank my husband for taking the kids to a primary activity, 2 birthday parties, one at Chuck E Cheese ( that deserves a medal alone) grocery shopping with coupons to Kroger for the one day sale, cleaned the house, and had friends over that night while I ditched him again, to go to a Women's activity for church. Even a bigger thanks to him because he didn't complain once!

Anna my sister, Suzanne a great friend and myself drove to Katy for the Pioneer Woman's cook book signing. We met my Sister In Law Tonia there.
If you have never read the Pioneer Woman, you are missing out! Go HERE and take a look.
It is a fun, interesting blog that a woman named Ree writes about her life on a ranch. Oh, and she is an amazing cook and photographer... and she has fabulous giveaway's!

Apparently we are not her only fans in Houston!

Myself, Suzanne and Anna waiting for PW. A Huge thanks to my Sister In Law Tonia for getting us great tickets and seats!

The first thing they did was have a little question and answer session, very good. She was exactly as you would have expected, very funny, warm and sincere. Even a little bugged, I think, that they asked her if her husband wore boxers or briefs!

This is a drawing that my sister Anna did of the Pioneer Woman's husband. Anna is an amazing artist, if you have been to my house you can see all the drawings she has done of my kids!

It only took her maybe an hour to sketch this out... days later I would still be trying to sharpen the pencil!

OH MY GOSH!! PW took a  picture of Anna! LOOK AT THAT CAMERA!!
Be still my beating heart.

Tonia and PW discussing the difference between Texas Sheet cake and PW's awesome sheet cake. It's the amount of butter, ladies! Go HERE to see the recipe.

This is Suzanne, who hates to have her picture taken and who is going to kill me for posting this...
It's worth it, she is so cute!

I collect cookbooks and have 100's. I have read this one cover to cover a few times. I love it because of the step by step instructions along with pictures. I have made many of the recipes in here already, over the past 15 years. They are REAL FOOD recipes. There is not one in this book, that my kids would not eat. Many are our favorites! We tried her Olive Bread recipe for Thanksgiving, it was AWESOME!
I can't wait to go page by page and make every single recipe in here!

** Go HERE to read about Anna on her site and for the Chocolate Sheet Cake recipe!

** Giveaway closed... sorry!
So for todays giveaway, I have one signed cook book from
The Pioneer Woman!

Just leave a comment and tell us if you have tried any of her recipes...

The kids will pick a winner Monday night while we put up our Christmas tree! Please leave contact info!

Also, if you have not gotten one of her cook books you can go HERE for the best price, plus free shipping if you have prime. They have been sold out at my Walmart all season.

PW is my hero!
I came across her blog years ago when I did a search for homeschooling moms. Funny. She is so much more than that!
I loved her step by step blog entry on her cinnamon rolls. What was even more funny was she took pictures of what her kitchen looked like in the midst of all the cinnamon roll making, and then a picture of the kitchen a couple days later- STILL with dirty dishes everywhere piled up! haha, so true to my life!

I haven't read her cookbook yet, but love c.b.'s and have been trying to get my husband to read my mind about wanting one (the mind reading thing never works very well though). As for recipes, well, anything texas and dessert would probably be my favorite...my hubbie lived in Dallas for two years-- 15 years ago, and still talks about the great food there, and dessert..well, you know.
