SURPRISE!

Well, I am officially announcing that I will be giving birth to Dobby the House-elf in early July.
Cute little fella/gal isn't he/she?!

I am not kidding, I wonder if the House-elf features come from my side, or my husbands side of the family. I am not sure that I am more surprised that I am having a baby, or that it is a little elf.

As if I needed further proof that we are never really the ones in control during this life, we have been blessed with the opportunity to have another baby. I have had a few months to wrap my brain around this surprise, and am finally stable enough to start saying it out loud without stuttering.... :)

I am very grateful for the sense of humor that we have here in our house, not one person even batted an eyelash when I swore up and down that I was returning the lame Mirena IUD that I have as soon as I deliver it with my baby in July. Do you think they want it back? It is kinda used. Although, I would say it didn't work very well, or I am just the lucky .01% that gets pregnant with it.
BTW - I am returning the IUD, not the baby...

Seriously now, we are extremely grateful that we have been blessed with wonderful healthy children and are super excited to welcome this wonderful little person into our family. I am very humbled with how much my children teach me every day and what amazing blessings they are. I am grateful that I have the ability to have children, and that for the most part I have easy and uneventful pregnancies. I would also be remiss if I did not mention how fabulous my husband is with newborns. He takes care of everything, I think if he could nurse he would! Things would never go as smoothly as they do without him.

Now, let this be a lesson to everyone. If you declare from the roof tops that you are not having anymore children/elf's, and start giving away EVERY piece of baby gear you have even before your baby has outgrown it, YOU WILL GET PREGNANT!
Don't ever say I didn't warn you!

P.S. I would like to say "Thank You" to all the nice people who just thought I had eaten a little too many  Holiday treats, and didn't comment on my "weight gain" I LOVE you! Being 15 weeks pregnant and in denial, I am still trying to squeeze into my "normal" clothes! It's not pretty...

Congratulations! It seems like everyone I know is having a baby. Not quite. And I guess I can't really say I know you but I read your blog daily so it feels like I know you. If you lived closer I would let you have my baby stuff, but I live in Wisconsin so I don't think it would be too easy to get it to you. Have a happy and healthy pregnancy.

Congrads! This is amazing because my family and I have just recently found out the same thing! And like you I have given away all my baby stuff after my four year old outgrew it vowing never to have any more kids! LOL Like you stated it is just proof we are not the ones in charge!

Good luck!

Thanks so much everyone! I am pretty thrifty :) so I am not really worried about the bay stuff, plus after 6 kids you realize that you really don't need much!

These are the best kind of surprises! Congratulations!!

Congrats Tiffany :) How fun is that!

Yay! I love big families. For it being a surprise you are taking it quite well. :) I am one of nine and I LOVE it. I wanted another one or two but my DH said no go. I'm fine with three now. For the most part. :)

Congratulations on #7.

Ha! That's awesome! The hub and I were just talking about starting to think more seriously about adding a #3 to our two boys. I'm SO glad I've found sites like yours that'll make having another baby a lot cheaper! Not that they really cost more than diapers, I guess, after the first one anyway. Just let us know if/when you decide to change to "mylitterofseven" ;).

Sending a huge CONGRATS to you and your family! Clearly an IUD is no match for your and your hubby. ;-)

Look forward to hearing the updates over the coming months!

We had a huge age difference from our first, 9 years just about, finally tossed all my stuff out and end up with twins. I can't wait to hear stories about people giving you the eye when you start showing your pregnant and your shopping with 6 kids and your coupon binder. What a blessing - Congratulations!!

Yay! Congrats on the blessing/surprise. I remember when your first was in nursery at church when Dan and I were first married, it doesn't seem that long ago. What a sweet and fun family you have!

Congrats Tiffany! Can't wait to hear the stories :)

I told my friend this week that I was going to get rid of all my baby stuff, my maternity clothes etc. . . I have four children and decided that I'm at my limit. Im kind of sad to get rid of everything but I told her we (my husband and I) were definitely done. I also have a mirena IUD. She called me tonight and said I have to read your blog right away. Ahhhhhh, maybe I ought to rethink getting rid of everything, kind of an insurance policy eh? Congratulations, and let's pray it doesn't happen to me.

Congratulations, how exciting. My husband and I just recently started trying to expand and include a second little to the family. I'm hoping I have as little trouble as you seem to have getting pregnant...though with the whole process of trying to start a family, my husband is hoping to miss for a couple of months before it happens! :)

I will add that I am terrified of having a newborn with a toddler and the changes that will go on. I think I'm more terrified the second time around than I was the first. I still feel like since I've been a mom I have not been successful when it comes to managing my time and keeping things in order. Though I hear once you have two that #3 and every one thereafter is a breeze. I shouldn't worry so much, plenty of people before me have done it successfully, but it's still a little scary! Your stories help to ease the anxiety. I look forward to little stories like this from my kid(s) that I'll share with them when they get older.

Congratulations Tiffany - I love your blog and appreciate all that you do!

I forgot to add, that a woman I work with had her tubes tied and her husband also had a vasectomy and she got pregnant. Just proof that miracles happen every day!

Katie said...

Congrats!! Maybe we could host an "online babyshower" for everything you've done for all of us...it is the least we could do for you!

So, does this mean, the title to your blog might change??? My litter of seven? :)

Tiffany said...

Margie, I have been told stories about tubes and vasectomies failing.... yes, at that point it was just ment to be!!

Katie, I know, what am I going to do about the title??!!! Oh, well, it is what it is!

We will be in good shape. i am such a bargain shopper that the only thing I really need is a car seat and i think I already found a friend to buy one from! we have learned that all we really need is a few onsies, some diapers and wipes!!! Other than that the baby will never know!

Thank you so much everyone for the nice comments!

Congratulations! Wow, 7 kids! No doubt you're a wonderful mom (yes, I've gotten that from following your blog). Scary to hear that you were using Mirena, I do too and always pray it keeps working. I guess it goes to show that if it's Gods Will, it will happen! I'm in Katy, and we've got a crib, mattress and some other baby gear that we've been looking to sell... so if you need anything, you should have my email through this comment!

Congratulations! How exciting to have another little blessing on the way! My husband is now a little worried after I read this to him because we've been getting rid of all our baby stuff. I told him I'm not the only one who knows it's a sure fire way to get pregnant.

COngrats! I was watching you with Rush in primary today and thinking how he was your last for some reason today, and ironically he isn't. You are great parents and this baby will be a blessing!

Awwww congrats! I have a room full of baby stuff and I'm scared to get rid of it. I had a dream that I sold it in a garage sale then found out I was pregnant! ha!

Good for you for staying so positive. It would take awhile to wrap your brain around having another child once you thought you were finished. Hope the pregnancy continues to go well!

Tiffany Thanks for sharing your wonderful news. I'm happy for you. That image is amazing of the baby. Ultrasounds have come a long way in 10 years.

Congrats! Also, I am feeling a little scared. I had an IUD inserted just after the birth of my 5 month-old who is also child #5in our family. Still, I would be thrilled to be surprised as well, so I'll stick with it.

That really and truly is wonderful news!!

Tiffany, what are all your kids names? What are you planning on naming this one? I wish we could have more but my dh says we are done. We have 3 and my little one just turned 2 last week so he is not a baby anymore. Now reading your blog is going to give me babyitis. Good luck and Congratulations!!! God Bless.
