Juice In The City: Great deals for your city!

There is a really cool new site called Juice In The City and I have been asked to be a contributer in the Houston area for it! Every day a great new Houston activity is recommended. Fun, cool places for families and great date nights are profiled, places that myself and other contributers have been ourselves and recommend.

When you check out the site make sure you "like" the activity to let Juice in the City know you want them to become great deals for us! Even if you are not in the Houston area, check it out because they are adding new cities all the time and might already have yours!

Play the "I like that!" Houston game:

  1. Each day, a new activity is featured on Juice In The City.
  2. Each day, an email to all subscribers goes out in the early morning, informing them of the daily Activity and asking them to come to the site and “like” the Activity if it appeals to them, and to share it with their friends!
  3. By “liking” an activity, you are “voting” for it as something you’d like to see offered as a deal in the future. The more people who “like” the activity, the more likely we can turn it into a great deal for everyone to enjoy. So please, like and share and help us get other moms to vote for what they want!

The top and bottom 3 things you spend your time thinking and worrying about, or hoping for...in the role of MOM.

First let me say that Kodak and Juice Box Jungle sponsored me to write this post. Hey, I am totally O.K. with that, it bought me 2 trips to Smoothie King this month!

They wanted me to ask, What are "The top and bottom 3 things you spend your time thinking and worrying about, or hoping for...in the role of MOM."

Wow, where to start! The bottom three is harder to come up with as obviously they are things I really don't think much about. If I had to guess I would say...

Bottom 3 I worry about:
#1 Are my kids loved enough? Absolutely. I don't ever worry about it!
#2 Do they have enough toys? Absolutely. I don't ever worry about it!
#3 Have they all laughed and smiled today? Absolutely. I don't ever worry about it!

Top 3 I worry about: This has made me cry today...
#1 Are my kids loved enough?
#2 Will they make good choices?
#3 How can I keep them safe?

I lay awake every night and worry about those three things and about 100 other issues with my children. My husband and I are discussing this as I type and his answers were surprisingly the same as mine. That is what made me cry. I expected close to the same with a  few "I worry ______ won't make the ______ team" thrown in there. But we are really on the same page as far as what deep down we worry about. He just doesn't wear it on his sleeve like I do :)

What do you spend your time worrying about?

P.S. I took the quiz on Kodak's site and I am WAAAYYYY over spending on printer ink. Darn, I was afraid of that!

Juice Box Jungle is begging me to go out to dinner!

Do you ever feel like you are going in separate directions all the time? Traditionally this time of year, my husband and I get a sitter for overnight, and we go out of town together to do some Christmas shopping. Because of a job situation we were not able to go this year. No big deal, I tried to tell myself, and started trying to remember the last time we had eaten dinner together with no children.... still thinking.... it was actually for our anniversary in May, I think.

So instead of a gift I was going to get him, I think what I will do is get a babysitter and we will have dinner together. It seems silly, and I know all the "experts" tell us we should make time for each other, but how many of you really do it? I am really asking, so leave a comment! We always talk about it but never actually follow through with it. Instead of my usual New Years resolution to loose some weight, I am going to commit to really make an effort to spend an evening a month together, no children.

One of the sponsors I have on my site ( did you know I have any?) is Juice Box Jungle. They are the cute little parenting videos in the green box on the right side of my blog. This month they are taking a poll asking if you think you and your spouse go out to dinner with each other enough? You can click the picture above to answer.

One way they are trying to encourage parents to spend some time together is by eating out... alone. This month they are promoting Restaurants.com. We have used this site MANY times in the past, our very favorite mexican restaurant offered specials all the time on there. At Restruants.com you purchase $25 gift certificates to restaurants in your area for anywhere from $3-$10. After you pay for it you just print it off and take it in. We save a ton of money this way eating out. The restaurants do this as a promotion to get people in, and it works, we use their gift certificates a lot.

So take a look at Restaurants.com ( especially if you are having family in town for the Holiday's, and are sick of cooking!) and click on the Juice Box Survey above! But most important, spend some quality time  with your spouse this month!
